2025 Annual Reset

As the year draws to a close, I take take the opportunity to reflect on the past year… things I accomplished, what worked well that I want to carry into the next year. But also reflect on things that didn’t work, what I learned from it and what I would like to do different in the next 12 months. With that I set new goals for the upcoming year. This annual reset is an important practice that helps me foster my personal growth and ensure that I remain focused on what truly matters. Here are some key points as I embark on this journey of reflection and setting the tone for next year.

Reflecting on Past Accomplishments & Positive Practices

I take the time to acknowledge and celebrate my accomplishments from the past year. I consider both big and small victories, as every step forward (and often a step back) contributes to my growth.

Personally, we made an important decision to move from California to Texas. While it wasn’t easy to uproot our life in San Diego, the move was in service to our short and long term goals. In preparation for the move we have spend hours discussing what is important to us, the goals we have for our life and how we are going to make it a reality. It helped us get crystal clear on the vision we have for our life.

Professionally, I changed jobs within my company. As I transitioned from an individual contributor to a people leader, it marked a significant milestone in both personal and professional development. This shift helped me cultivate new skills such as effective communication, mentorship, and leading with inspiring vision. As my responsibilities shifted from focusing on personal tasks to overseeing a team's success, it led to increased self-awareness and sense of fulfillment, as I witness the growth of my team members and myself.

Reflecting back provided me insight into what strategies worked well for me, allowing me to build on those successes moving forward.

Year of “Look Good, Feel Good”

One thing I will do differently this year is set a theme for the year, to ensure more thoughtful and realistic goals. I have considering various aspects of your life and realized that I continue to struggle with reaching my goals of healthy lifestyle. While I continue to try different approaches, I have not reached the goals yet that would make me proud. With that, I’m declaring 2025 as year of “Look Good, Feel Good”, with the aim to create a well-rounded set of goals that will help me get to where I want to be.

Creating an Action Plan

Having goals is just the beginning; My next steps will be to create an actionable plan is crucial for success, breaking down each goal into smaller, manageable steps. This will make the process less overwhelming and provide me with clear milestones to work towards. The key will be to establish deadlines for each step to maintain motivation and accountability. with this blog serving as my accountability “partner”.
